Definition : Web Service
Web service is a service that is available in the Internet messaging system that uses the XML terstandarisasi. Web service is not tied to the operating system or programming language. There are several alternatives in the exchange of XML messages. For example, the XML Remote Procedure calls (XML-RPC) or SOAP can be used in the exchange of messages. Another alternative is to use only HTTP GET / POST to send the XML message.
Although there is no need, a web service is also expected to have two additional properties:
* A web service must be able to define himself
The public web service should be published simultaneously with the publication of web services. Service should not provide the documents can be read by other developers so easy to use. SOAP service that is made should also include a public interface that is written in the language of the common XML. XML can be used to identify all the public method, method arguments and return values.

Web service that must be accompanied by a simple mechanism to publish. These mechanisms allow stakeholders to find the service and get the location of public interface. Mechanism can be in decentralized system or a centralized registry system.

* Defining themselves through standard XML grammar
* Can be searched with a simple search mechanism
