The Type of Software
Are aware, when we use computers, we actually have to use the software. What is the actual software is? Software or software programs that are all used to run a computer or other device. In general, there are two types of software. First is the software application. Software is a software application created for a specific purpose or purposes, for example Notepad text editor, Winamp to play audio files, and so forth. Second is the software system. Software is a software system that places all software applications running. Examples are Microsoft Windows, Linux, Mac OS, and so forth.
According to the way the building (read: the purchasing price and legality), the software can be divided into several types. The first type is freeware. Freeware software that can be used without cost, but still have limitations on copyright users. That is, although we use the freeware we can not violate the copyright on software, such as multiplication to others or use the software to other interests. Typically freeware is distributed without any code of the program concerned. And if we do not have to pay, what the purpose of the creator of the freeware? The goal clearly is to the campaign. Both the campaigns themselves (for the individual programmer) or products (for the developer kakap class). Other objectives that are possible to get input from users and some (although rarely found), which aims to break a system. Some examples of freeware is Paint.net, Rocket Dock, Ccleaner, and many more.
The second type is shareware. Shareware is software that can be used without charge in a period of time. After the period is completed, users are given the option, whether to continue using the software (with the consequences of pay) or no longer use the software. Sometimes given the restrictions on the shareware features that can only be used if users buy softwarenya. As freeware, shareware is still restricted by copyright. The goal of making shareware is clear, namely to provide examples of the results so before the software is purchased by the user. Some examples of this shareware StyleXP for example, Window Blinds, WinRAR, and so forth.
Third, propietary software. Essentially, the software is nearly propietary with the goods we can buy in the market. If we want to use it, we must be purchased. Propietary software is restricted by copyright. We are not allowed to distribute again, mengotak-atik program, and this software does not come with source code.
The fourth type of start is the popular open-source software. Unlike the previous types of software, open source software gives us the freedom to use, in accordance with the changing needs, and medistribusikan return, both the original software and we have changed. Usually the software is open source code to include in the source of the distribution of funds. The goal of making open source software is usually not for commercial purpose, but more to the social goals of how the software can be a benefit for users. Some examples of open source software such as Pidgin, qGo, Inkscape, Gimp, and many more.
